Mercury in retrograde

she told me that
Mercury was in retrograde,
said it made her feel some 
type of way

I told her of
the mercury in my brain
poisoning, and persuading me
insane

with sorrow in our hollow eyes,
and acid tainted rain
liquid mercury
courses through my veins.

and on top of everything,
Mercury is in retrograde.

Bare-Backed Dancers

her lips taste like strychnine
she kisses me
four times, five times, six times
my eyes are glued to hers
and in my soul,
I search for words 
but none come.

thoughts lie dormant
on the tip of my tongue
smoke on my lips,
tar in my lungs.

I never took the time
to think
of what I said.
until 
my time ran out,
and i could only think
of what I hadn’t said.

when it comes to
love and trances,
I’ll take my chances 
with the bare-backed dancers.
