Tiana Ohara is an eighteen-year-old multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter. The Los Angeles native began her musical journey when she picked up the guitar for the first time at age seven. It was as if the guitar and the girl had an instant click and connection. As time went on, her musical curiosity increased and she self-taught herself how to play the drums, piano, and bass guitar.
From 2012-2016, Tiana attended the Music and Performing Arts Academy at Alexander Hamilton High School to further develop her musical skills. In 2014, Tiana attended the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) as a student of the music department. This is where Tiana discovered her love for jazz and creating original music. At the end of the immersive arts program, Tiana was one of three musicians awarded with a Herb Alpert Emerging Young Artists Award. Tiana is currently living in New York City, where she continues to hone her craft and follow her passion at The New School. She is earning her degree in Jazz and Contemporary Music with a focus in jazz guitar performance. Tiana continues to write and record her own music and hopes to start gigging in the city soon. |
