"My name is Austin Ryan. I'm from Chandler, AZ. I have a project called No Lungs. It's kind of a one-man operation. I record all of the instruments myself, mix, and distribute everything from my bedroom, so it's raw and DIY. Much of the influence for that comes from early Car Seat Headrest recordings, where he did the same things. Anyway, I started it in December 2017 and hit the ground running and since then I've put out two full-length albums. The first one is called ‘These Threads Lead Somewhere’ and it came out in January of this year. I recorded the thing in two weeks, right after I decided to make No Lungs a thing. The most recent album is called Never Live It Down, and it came out on April 6th. It took a bit longer to record (it took about two months), but I consider it a little more dark and there’s a little more depth to that one as well. With help from my friends Austin Carson, Noah Nason, and Sam Etling, I began playing live shows under the No Lungs banner. Although I’m the only real member on recordings, they help to make the songs work in the live setting. I also just put out a music video for a track called “Better Weather” off of the new album. It was directed by my friend, Andrew Lara, and shot in various locations around Chandler and Mesa, AZ."
