The Swells are a five-piece, surf-jazz group, from the San Fernando Valley, CA; The band formed in 2014 playing backyard shows as a drum/guitar combo, before evolving into a full five piece band. From the release of their debut album in June 2017, which featured solo artist Cuco, The Swells have established a sound drawn from the styles of Chicano Batman, Jack White, BADBADNOTGOOD as well as traditional acts such as Charles Mingus and Chet Baker. Following a Christmas single, an EP, an LP and the launch of a record label in 2018; The Swells are now working on their second studio album set to be released in the Fall of 2019.... Their audience expands all over California. Their college-playing experience includes universities such as LMU, CSUN, UCLA, UCSB, and UCB.
