Deb Never delivered a raw, emotional performance opening for Tommy Genesis at The Holocene in Portland, OR on April 1st. Her songs have slow tempos paired with some pretty sad lyrics, yet her carefree energy kept the crowd energized for the entire set. Her sound has influence of 90s grunge vocals and lo-fi elements, bringing in modern beats and hypnotic production. During her 2019 single, In The Night, she brought the crowd into the performance, holding out the mic for the everyone to sing the simple-but-catchy chorus. Deb Never has mastered the art of making music you can vibe to in a crowd, and cry to when you’re alone. - TK

The bisexual rapper visited Portland, OR on her God Is Wild tour, and all night she kept the crowd jumping with her killer beats and intense stage presence. She periodically leaned in to hug fans and even jumped into the crowd to dance during her song, Rainbow. She delivered all the hype with her unapologetically sexual, self-proclaimed “fetish rap.” Her energy is contagious, and everyone in the room was feeling like one of the bad b*tches referenced in her song with Charli XCX, 100 Bad. Tommy Genesis is a powerful rap queen who gives no f*cks, and she’s changing the hip hop game. - TK
