With the release of the Swollen album, ELA brings a new feel to a classic genre. Lush with addicting vocal hooks, a jazzy undertone, and a smooth pop style, the record boasts the aesthetic of indie pop anthems. Though the songs are diverse from one another, there is a glue that holds it all together much like a concept album would. Based out of San Francisco, songwriter Mica Ela is a 20 year old Peruvian artist and musician. Writing and composing music from the age of only 11, she has always had music as a way to express her life experiences. The artist continues to relocate to find new inspiration for creation. The Swollen album is the epitome of where she is now as a performer.
