"My work is a focused critique of the internet-based contemporary global culture. From sexual self-representation as autocurated discourse and disclosure, to the rise of instagram micro-celebrities and their role in the industry of consumption.
While taking cues from the advertisement industry, I re-engineer the production of meaning into a ludically satisfying discourse. I'm drawing on paper as a performance capable of altering the speed of image production and their reception online. I've decided to dispense with power operations such as copy-paste, clone and undo in favour of spontaneity and mistakes. Probably more mistakes than spontaneity. I deal with it." |
