Elizabeth Scholnick grew up in the heart of the East Village. Elizabeth after graduating from the School of Visual Arts in 2011 was captivated by the documenting aspects and concepts of her surroundings and important issues. She is always finding out about how to get involved in political activism, and speaking out for what is important to her and human rights. In the wake of Donald Trumps presidency there has been an uproar of anger and resistance from around the world. The photographs featured in this body of work were taken during the New York protests following announcement of America's President elect in November of 2016 and she continues to document these protests and gatherings.
Elizabeth runs an annual magazine, Mind Breath Magazine. Her company, Mind Breath Productions also produces: zines, books, and films, and she is currently in the process of producing her first documentary about gentrification in New York City. |
