   "I’m a 19 year old photographer from Washington state. My primary focus is conceptual and experimental portraiture. I am currently taking a gap semester from university to travel and focus on creative projects.I created this series of experimental portraits of my friend Anova using a self-made studio and projector. My vision with these photographs was to portray a state of daydreaming; The soft textures in these photographs effectively communicate this unifying idea. I added grain and brightened the shadows to stray away from the look of harsh, high-contrast photographs. I also used different household materials while shooting in order to diffuse and reflect light from the projector; This softened the light and added to the hazy sensation of a daydream. I was able to achieve a retro look by increasing vibrance and exploring new editing approaches, such as distortion and blending of colors."
