Cash Aura's New Hyper-Pop Release, "Good Love"

7/2/2021

Often feeling out of place growing up in Northern England, Cash Aura escaped into the glamour of Pop music and later online communities of people who shared her desire for escapism and to embody their own fantasies. In this world, her DIY musical project took shape as she found ways to fuse her passion for creating experimental musical textures and her obsession with the manufactured pop culture of her childhood, culminating in her unique brand of glittering Hyper-Pop.

After making a name for herself in the Manchester’s live scene as well as a festivals around the UK, Cash Aura released her ethereal debut single ‘Deep Blue’ in November 2019, and has gone on to release several singles and collaborate with many artists in the underground pop scene. Her latest single Good Love is a sickly sweet Pop ballad, and the first release from a collection of songs written during 2020, while Cash was locked down in her childhood bedroom.

"Feminity" by Cici Tran

"I'm Nga (Cici), a Vietnamese woman approaching her 30's still trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I'm an aspiring dancer, currently in training to be an official dance instructor. I also love film photography - an expensive hobby I've got to say but it's fun learning this craft. Self portraits on film take a lot of trial and error to get right so I'm very much proud of myself."

"Fun House" & "4:20" by Gabrielle Fashbaugh

"I am a story telling photographer & my art consists of dark and psychedelic vibes. I intend to make people think on a deeper level and feel something outside of their own world. My photography has been showcased locally at The Hub Factory in Canton, Ohio and in distant galleries such as The Hive Gallery and Studios based in Los Angeles, California, and at the Aeon Gallery based in Richmond, Illinois. I have had one solo show before the pandemic arose and I plan on having many more. I also plan on broadening my art by working with musicians on their album cover art and more. Excited to see where my art leads me into the future."

The Fun House

Why is dying so hard to comprehend?
Is it the unknown of the end?
Is it lights out or is it the gates of Heaven or Hell?
Why does it get to choose when to come & go as it pleases?
Why does it force me to say goodbye?
I don’t want to host a “party” at The Fun House.
I don’t want to admit you died.
The thief of time.
The thief of peace.
The thief you call Death.

"My name is Hunter and I live right outside Washington, DC. My art is a reflection of my personal experience as a Black Queer femme in the US today and also seeks to inspire radical structural change. My art ranges from small ink drawings to massive painted murals, to digital pieces created with software. Most of my pieces depict Black women in fantastical settings demanding the destruction of oppressive institutional systems and promoting the message of love for people and the environment."

Valuemart

The coldwave project Valuemart was created in 2018 by multi-instrumentalist Tory Knowles, who was inspired to create music faithful to the production styles of the 80's. Knowles began to receive press coverage after the release of his single 'Blow', which premiered on Kaltblut magazine with a coinciding interview. This led to an eventual record deal with the Berlin based label Detriti Records, who in March of 2021 published his flagship album 'Alice Underground', a culmination of songs composed over a two year period of intense emotions and losses. Knowles subsequently recruited three band members after the release to begin live shows.

"sacrilegious"  by Sofia Arceo

"The point of this poem was to both criticize and overview my experience with growing up a lesbian Mexican woman in the Catholic Church. It’s meant to show how children in organized religion are often taught from a young age to demonize themselves therefore stunting their self growth and self discovery to fit this perfect Catholic kid mold, a facade of purity and perfection. We are called demonic and sinners for living our truth when in reality it’s just me."
